Chris
A most fortunate accident befell his family when Chris was about 8 years old. His little brother broke the television set and Dad said "No new TV. We're going to read." So while his peers grew up with the Cleavers and the Partridge Family, Chris was having adventures with John Carter of Mars (Edgar Rice Burroughs) and solving mysteries with the Hardy Boys and Hercule Poirot (Agatha Christie).
New to Durango, Chris is excited to be a part of Maria's Bookshop. He's also attempting to craft a novel of his own in his "spare" time (gotta do something with that English degree) . He loves the savvy use of language by authors such as William Shakespeare, Vladimir Nabokov and Ivan Doig, to name a few. He has a bazillion different interests, is a supporter of National Parks and sustainability, and enjoys being outdoors, silence (it's golden), and growing food.
When not hawking books, Chris runs an online rare print business, Darvill's Rare Prints, with his partner.
